Alex Miller is a partner and chair of the Employee Benefit Plans Audit Group at Hemming Morse. He specializes in single- and multi-employer plans.
Alex’s broad range of experience includes auditing more than 225 employee benefit plans in the construction, retail, food and drug, hotel and restaurant, and trucking industries, as well as for government agencies and unions. He has served as an expert witness in U.S. District Court and for the Assistant U.S. District Attorney’s office in a federal criminal jury trial in matters relating to Employee Benefit Plans and the preparation and filing of the Forms 5500.
Alex has served on the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ (AICPA) special task force to re-examine SOP-92-6 and on the AICPA Audit Committee for Employee Benefit Plans. This committee is responsible for monitoring and updating the Employee Benefit Audit Guide used by all auditors of employee benefit plans. He has presented numerous times for the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans (IFEBP) and has sat on a number of the organization’s committees. Alex is also the former chairman of the Audit Committee of the IFEBP.
