Susan Thompson is a Director in the Litigation and Forensic Consulting Services Group in the Fresno office of Hemming Morse, Inc. A Certified Public Accountant, she has more than 20 years of experience in auditing and litigation services. Susan’s litigation accounting experience includes assistance in various forms of business litigation, professional liability litigation, white-collar crime, investigations of property and casualty insurance fraud claims, fraud investigation, and money laundering. She has assisted clients in many areas of the litigation process, including discovery requests, estimation of damages, preparation of trial exhibits, the presentation at trial of complex matters, and presentation at appraisal. Susan has also served as an umpire in a dispute arising between an insurance company and its insured as to the actual damages sustained by the insured. Prior to joining HMI, she worked with both “Big Five” and regional CPA firms, auditing commercial and not-for-profit entities in a variety of industries, including real estate, agriculture, high-technology manufacturing, and also served as an interim controller for a regional airline. Susan has testified in deposition and trial as an expert witness. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants, in which she is a member of the Economic Damages and Fraud Sections. Susan received her  B.S. degree in Accounting from Loma Linda University in Loma Linda, California.
