Jack Abel is a Director in the Litigation and Forensic Consulting Services Group in the Chico, California, office of Hemming Morse, Inc. A Certified Public Accountant, he has more than 20 years of construction accounting experience as an auditor and as a chief financial officer for a general building contractor, through which he gained extensive knowledge of construction company operations. As an auditor, Jack performed audits and reviews of general contractors and various sub-trade contractors’ financial statements. As a chief financial officer, he was responsible for all financial, risk management, and human resources functions.

In addition to being a Certified Public Accountant, Jack has earned the Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) credential from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and is also a Certified Fraud Examiner. He is a member of the Forensic and Valuation Services section of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA); the Business Valuations subsection of the Litigation section of the California Society of Certified Public Accountants (CSCPA); the Institute of Business Appraisers (IBA); the ESOP Association; the San Francisco Business Valuation Round Table; and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. He is also an associate member of the American Bar Association.

Jack holds bachelor’s degrees in Agricultural Business Management from California State Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo, and Accountancy from California State University, Sacramento.
