Catherine Yip is a Manager in the Litigation and Forensic Consulting Services Group in the San Francisco office of Hemming Morse, Inc. As a Certified Public Accountant, she has over eight years of experience in consulting, litigation, accounting and auditing services. Catherine has worked on complex cases with clients in the areas of securities litigation and accountant's professional liability. Her work involves the evaluation of available evidence to determine whether the independent audit or review of those financial statements was conducted in accordance with prevailing professional standards and whether an entity's reported financial statements were prepared in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles for mostly financial services and high technology entities.
Prior to joining HMI, Catherine worked with a "Big Four" CPA firm as a manager, working with public and private companies in the high-technology, biotechnology and manufacturing industries. Catherine also worked as a consulting manager, assisting pre-IPO companies with technical accounting issues, complex revenue recognition and S-1 filing, and public companies with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Santa Clara University and her Master of Science degree in Accounting from University of Virginia.
